The Knot of Creation

I.
In the time before creation there was neither darkness nor light
Nor our world, nor even The Red Chapel, Which Waits

II.
This was the time of the Knot, which neither saw, nor hungered, nor heard
And dwelled in the void without fear

III.
From Elsewhere came the Radiant Stars, Whose Light Needs No Doors
And with them came change, and shadow, and fear

IV.
And the Knot was divided by the light of the Radiant Stars
And the Aeons and Moments were born from the Corpse of the Knot

V.
Now there were the Radiant Stars, and the Aeons, and the Moments
And the Corpse of the Knot

VI.
The Radiant Stars bathed the Corpse of the Knot in their light
And from the corpse came the Three Gardens, the Silent Brothers, and the Cephaline Gate

VII.
This was the dawn of creation, and the birth of the filament and the firmament
And life stirred in the worlds that sprang from the Corpse of the Knot

VIII.
The Aeons saw that where dwells life must also dwell death
And at the End of All Doors they built The Red Chapel, Which Waits

IX.
The Moments went forth to the Corpse of the Knot and bid all creation to follow
And brought them to the Red Chapel, Which Waits

X.
Come forth, said the Moments to the Radiant Stars
And the Radiant Stars defied the Moments and the Red Chapel at the End of All Doors
