The City of Vastengrad

The city of Vastengrad is stained red from her docks to the lord's keep by the salt of the Shrieking Sea, Malhalholtra, and the algae blooms it carries on its tides each spring.  She is a proud and ancient city torn between the the Old Gods and the new.  Vastengrad is known for her fleets, which provide security for trade up and down the coast, and for the gray-faced chroniclers who have dedicated their lives to the study of the stars and chart the movements and changes in the night sky.

Vastengrad is famed for other things as well; bonesmiths who ply their trade in secret, listening to the whispers of the Einvars as they carve trinkets and weapons from the remains of creatures blessed by the Radiant Stars, smugglers who supply her hidden cults with exotic narcotics from the distant lands Kal Salei and the Attumen Empire, and the skraefolk who haunt her alleys and watering holes, carving sigils and prayers to the Old Gods on every surface a knife can scratch.

In Vastengrad, adventurers must be careful where they put their eyes; beneath the veneer of civilization, it is a city of old magic, curses, and seekers desperate to attain the favor of the Radiant Stars at any cost. Here, magic is real, and curses carry weight.
