As someone who has spent so much of her life trying to hide as best she could from everyone around her, writing an about me page feels like an impossible task.
What does it say about me that I don’t know how to write an about me page without having a sense of who might be reading it. You might be one of my friends or someone I know from work or maybe you’re one of my kids in like ten years doing that thing kids do where they suddenly find their parents interesting and go digging around in old boxes looking for photos and letters and journals.
I’m trans. Maybe I should talk about being trans? But what if that’s all I talk about and then I don’t even have a personality anymore outside transition? This is starting to feel like a trap.

I have three kids; a partner whom I love dearly, even when she steals all the covers at night. I like Doctor Who and Sherlock Holmes and I watch the movie Aliens on Thanksgiving and I think my favorite movie is The Fantastic Mr. Fox. I am very fond of spicy foods.
